Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technologies - LBTU organizes the 18th international scientific conference "Students on their Way to Science", which will take place on April 21. The plenary session will be held on the Zoom platform, while the work in the sections is planned both online and in the university faculties. Students are invited to apply for participation and submit their conference report topic by March 20.

The purpose of the conference is to popularize scientific research and build intercultural communication experience. The working language of the conference is English, therefore, developing foreign language skills is one of the essential benefits for conference participants. For some of the students, it is also a great opportunity to test the results of their bachelor's, master's and doctoral thesis research, as well as to gain knowledge about the research of the represented branch of science in other countries. Also, the student's participation in the conference is used as an advantage in various scholarship competitions.

Students can apply for one of the sections of the conference and give an oral report, as well as a written abstract of the report, which will be published in CAB abstracts. The thematic directions of the conference include all study and research directions implemented by LBTU: agriculture (crop cultivation, horticulture, animal science), veterinary medicine, food science, engineering (mechanics, electrical engineering, agriculture), education, information technology, construction, environment and water management, land management and geodesy, landscape architecture and planning, forestry and woodworking, as well as social sciences (economics, management, sociology).

It should be noted that the conference is recognized as one of the largest student scientific conferences in Central and Eastern Europe, in which Latvian and other university students participate.
