The event is organized in Tallinn, Estonia, 9–10 October, 2025. As the largest impact and sustainability event in the Nordic and Baltic region, "Impact Day", will  serve as a platform for entrepreneurs, NGOs, policymakers, and other interested participants in implementing and promoting sustainable solutions. Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU) will participate as a co-creator, highlighting its role in advancing a safer and more sustainable future.

Under the campaign slogan "Building a Bold, Self-sufficient Europe!", organizers of the event aim to promote exciting, brave, and inspiring ideas that will guide Europe towards economic revival, technological advancement, and increased security.

The program features over 150 speakers across three main stages: Impact Stage, Sustainability Stage, and Inspiration Stage. The event will also host 15+ practical workshops and 50+ organizational stands, bringing together around 2,500 participants.

LBTU will be represented at the "Impact Day" by:

  • Dina Popluga, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Social Development (ESAF).

  • Ilze Laukalēja-Broka, Head of the EIT Food Hub Latvia.

  • Sandra Muižniece-Brasava, Lead researcher at the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Technology, Head of the TEPEK.

  • Ivars Mozga, Lead researcher at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies.

  • Lana Janmere, Lecturer and research assistant at ESAF.

They will share their expertise on how research and its practical outcomes can support entrepreneurs while enhancing overall quality of life. A key focus of LBTU’s contribution will be the pressing global challenge of food waste. Each year, more than 1.09 billion tons of food are discarded worldwide across retail, food service, and household sectors. Households account for the largest share of this loss, with an average of 79 kilograms of food wasted per person annually.

Event participants will have the opportunity to engage with LBTU not only during panel discussions but also in the exhibition area, where the university’s researchers will showcase their projects, explore potential collaboration opportunities, and present initiatives in technology transfer.
