On May 6–7, the European University Alliance "ChallengeEU" will host its first annual conference, "Bridging Regions – Connecting Universities," at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Poland and online. The event will bring together academic leaders, researchers, university staff, students, and industry partners from across Europe. The conference aims to promote a sustainable future by highlighting the vital role of higher education in addressing societal challenges, strengthening collaboration, and advancing innovation.

The conference will be held at the Conference Centre of the University of Warmia and Mazury, one of the partner institutions of the "ChallengeEU". The Center provides modern, multifunctional facilities designed to host international academic events. Located on the outskirts of the university's campus in Olsztyn, the venue offers an ideal setting for both formal conference sessions and professional networking among representatives of the alliance's partner institutions.

The "ChallengeEU" conference will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and the development of joint initiatives. Over the two days, participants will have the opportunity to attend plenary sessions, working meetings, thematic discussions, workshops, and informal networking events. Attendees will also be able to explore the university campus and experience the cultural life of the city.

The first day will open with discussions on the alliance's external engagement and the importance of regional cooperation across Europe. Plenary sessions will focus on sustainable regional development, including long-term cross-border cooperation initiatives that demonstrate the contribution of higher education institutions to regional growth and innovation.

The second day will highlight the achievements, challenges, and future development of the "ChallengeEU" alliance. Particular attention will be given to challenge-based learning and to the alliance's progress from the perspective of university leadership. The program will also include working meetings, thematic exchange sessions, student training activities, and community engagement initiatives.

Registration for participants will open on February 15, 2026. The first "ChallengeEU" conference marks an important milestone in the alliance's development, strengthening a shared European vision of sustainable, challenge-driven, and socially engaged higher education.
