Forest Research Station

Forest Research Station is a public agency established by the Latvian State Forestry Institute "Silava" and the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU). Its primary purpose is to manage state scientific research forests and provide long-term support for forestry research, monitoring, education, and knowledge transfer.
The station’s key functions include:
- Managing state-owned scientific research forests;
- Maintaining long-term research infrastructure and environmental monitoring sites;
- Facilitating practical training and continuing education for students and public sector professionals in forestry;
- Promoting the transfer of forestry knowledge and best practices;
- Conducting quality control of forest reproductive material.
