Forest Research Station

The Forest Research Station is a public agency founded by the Latvian State Forestry Institute "Silava" and the Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technology (LBTU).
The purpose of the Forest Research Station is to manage state scientific research forests for research, the establishment and maintenance of long-term scientific research, environmental and forest monitoring facilities, as well as to support training practices and further education in the field of forest sector education:
manages state scientific research forests;
provides support for the establishment and maintenance of scientific research, environmental and forest monitoring facilities, training practices and further educationactivities in the field of forest sector education, as well as further education and training activities for employees of the state administration in the forest sector;
promotes the transfer of forest management knowledge;
carries out quality control of forest seeds.
