LBTU Equestrian Learning Center “Mušķi”

The main goal of the Equestrian Learning Center “Mušķi” is to provide students with the opportunity to acquire and enhance comprehensive knowledge through practical experience with horses. The center offers the possibility to learn basic skills in equine handling. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of classical equestrian sports. 

For students of the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies:

• Practical lessons in “Horse Breeding” course for full-time and part-time students of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Technology; 

• Practical lessons in “Animal Husbandry” course for students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine; 

• Elective study course “Basic Training of Horse and Rider”. 

For all interested individuals: 

• In cooperation with the LBTU Lifelong Learning Centre, we offer practical lessons as part of continuing education and professional development programs; 

• Equestrian training (paid service; subscription-based). 

Additional services: 

• Horse boarding – stall rental available under individual agreements; 

• Indoor arena rental;

• Guided stable tours; 

• Horse rental for photo shoots – available both on-site at the “Mušķi” and at external locations.
