The 15th international scientific conference "EcoTech 2025" was successfully held at the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies. Over the three days, it brought together scientists, young researchers, and industry experts from more than ten countries. The conference took place at the Faculty of Forest and Environmental Sciences.

This year marked only the second occasion that the long-running Linnaeus Eco-Tech conference - traditionally held in Kalmar, Sweden - was organized outside its usual venue. Conference Chair, Associate Professor Inga Grīnfelde, emphasized the importance of regional collaboration, noting that "cooperation across the Baltic Sea region is especially vital today, as environmental issues have shifted from local concerns to regional and global challenges.”

The three-day programme featured plenary sessions, thematic panels, poster presentations, and project showcases, creating an extensive and comprehensive scientific agenda. In total, the conference included 69 oral, poster, and virtual presentations, compiled in the "EcoTech 2025" Abstract Book. Participants came from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Sweden - including Mid Sweden University, a partner of LBTU in the "ChallengeEU" alliance - as well as from Poland, Ukraine, Germany, Brazil, Nigeria, Costa Rica, Iran, and several other countries.

Research topics spanned a wide range of fields, including circular economy, climate and ecology issues, environmental and water engineering, pollution reduction technologies, urban development, biotechnology, and materials science, along with aspects of security and societal sustainability.

Following peer review, the conference papers are set to be submitted for publication in internationally recognised journals indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and Clarivate Analytics databases.
