LBTU representatives receive high honors at the ceremonial event of the Ministry of Agriculture
At the ceremonial event of the Ministry of Agriculture, dedicated to the 107th anniversary of Latvia, representatives from the agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and food sectors, as well as public administration, were presented with Cabinet of Ministers Certificates of Recognition, Prime Minister’s Letters of Appreciation, Ministry of Agriculture Medals 'For Diligence,' Certificates of Recognition, and Fisheries Fund Certificates of Recognition.
Every year, the awardees include representatives of the Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU) and employees of the university’s supervisory institutions, who have made a significant contribution to higher education, science, and the development of the sector.
This year, 70 professionals from the agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and food sectors received high honors from the Cabinet of Ministers, the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Fisheries Fund.

Dr. biol. Biruta Bankina – Leading researcher and professor at the Institute of Soil and Plant Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture and Food Technology (LPTF), LBTU, and Corresponding Member of the Latvian Academy of Sciences
Dr. sc. ing. Dalija Segliņa – Leading researcher at the Horticulture Institute

The Cabinet of Ministers Certificate of Recognition, awarded since 1995, expresses the government’s appreciation to individuals, including foreigners, for outstanding achievements in the national economy, science, education, health and environmental protection, culture, sports, national defense, and public administration.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Agriculture awards, given since 1997, recognize employees and industry professionals for long-term, successful, and dedicated work in agriculture, food production, forestry, fisheries, and public administration. They are also awarded to individuals actively involved in rural development in Latvia and in alternative rural development initiatives, promoting employment in the regions.
