Graduates of the Faculty of Economics and Social Development receive higher education diplomas
On 19 June, in a festive atmosphere, the graduation ceremony of the Faculty of Economics and Social Development of the Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU) was held. A total of 154 graduates received higher education diplomas, including 16 international students. For outstanding academic achievements during their studies, 26 young specialists received honours diplomas.

The Deanof the Faculty of Economics and Social Development Dina Popluga also addressed the graduates: "Dear graduates and guests! As a dean, I have no greater satisfaction than to stand here today in the heart of Jelgava Castle - in Aula - and to see you - the result of our joint work - a new, powerful and knowledgeable generation of specialists who will bring fresh breezes to the world economy. Dear graduates! Study time has been like a serious strategic game with many levels and unknowns. You've gone through this game and gained a victory. Now is the time to put this knowledge to use - to innovate, to make bold decisions, to research and not to be afraid to make mistakes, because every mistake is just another step towards finding the right path. 37 graduates of the academic bachelor’s programme "Economics" received a bachelor’s degree in economics. Among them were five outstanding graduates:
Milana Brauna – "AS "Olpha" competitiveness and its influencing factors",
Luīze Bādere – "Fixed asset accounting and analysis in the farm "Lazdas"",
Daila Brigmane – "Analysis of profitability and its influencing factors of AS "Air Baltic Corporation"",
Alise Gatiņa – "The impact of labour tax burden on income inequality in Latvia",
Dita Irbe – "State social protection for self-employed persons in Latvia".
10 graduates of the academic bachelor’s programme "Sociology of Organizations and Public Administration" received a bachelor’s degree in sociology of organizations and public administration. The programme was also completed by two international students.
12 graduates of the professional bachelor’s programme "Commercial Activity and Business Management" received a professional bachelor’s degree in commercial activity and business management and the qualification of business manager. An honours diploma for outstanding academic achievement was awarded to Alīna Pčolka, whose thesis was titled "Limited liability company "Raja K.T. " competitiveness assessment".
25 graduates of the academic master’s programme "Economics" received a master’s degree in economics. Two graduates received honours diplomas:
Marija Lukina – "Gender-oriented price differences and their impact on sustainable gender equality in Latvia",
Ilona Kabanova – "Financial stability assessment in the dairy processing and cheese production industry in Latvia".
22 graduates received a master’s degree in "Sustainable Finance". Nine graduates were recognised for outstanding academic performance:
Agate Bērziņa – "The impact of sustainable finance on ESG performance indicators of the company "Komunālais ABC"",
Rikarda Damroze-Sprunce – "Opportunities of European Union funds for the development of zero-emission commercial transport in Latvia",
Evija Eglīte – "Regulatory requirements as a driver of innovation in the FinTech sector",
Arita Kalmane – "The impact of purchasing new agricultural machinery on the financial performance of agricultural enterprises",
Lauma Laurinoviča – "Adaptation of climate change risk stress-testing methodologies in the assessment of agricultural sector enterprises",
Elīna Laine Melbārde – "Comparison of financing models for general education earmarked grants in Latvian municipalities",
Maija Runce – "Voluntary sustainability reporting practices in Latvia and their role in company competitiveness",
Elza Smilškalne – "Quality of sustainability reporting and regulatory requirements: case studies of LEAG and Scandbio Latvia",
Amanda Endija Vārna – "Sustainability reporting practices in telecommunications sector companies".
9 graduates, including 3 international students, completed the professional master’s programme "Sociology of Organizations and Public Administration", receiving a master’s degree in sociology of organizations and public administration. Two graduates received honours diplomas:
Katrīna Sevruka – "Alignment of personal and organizational values: the case of employment agencies in Italy",
Arita Sendija Stesela – "Values of Generation Z youth in Latvia as a factor influencing migration decisions in the context of employment".
10 graduates of the professional master’s programme "Project Management" received a professional master’s degree in project management and/or project manager qualification. Three graduates were recognised for outstanding academic performance:
Adelīna Andrējeva – "Evaluation and improvement opportunities of social media project management in the media agency EssenceMediacom",
Laura Dapševiča – "Assessment of participant engagement strategies in the project series "Neapēd zemeslodi"",
Laura Šape – "Optimisation of project lifecycle processes at the State Joint Stock Company "Latvijas Pasts"".
16 graduates, including 11 international students, completed the professional master’s programme "Business Management", receiving a professional master’s degree in business management and/or organisational management. Two graduates received honours diplomas:
Marta Lagzdiņa – "Assessment of sustainable agriculture criteria in farms in Latvia",
Marika Žarkova – "Analysis of strategic factors of AS "Cēsu alus"".
13 graduates of the professional master’s programme "Human Resource Management and Career Counselling" received a professional master’s degree in human resource management and career counsellor qualification. Two outstanding graduates were recognised:
Ināra Melne – "Support for orphan’s courts in promoting career development of adolescents in out-of-family care",
Agnese Žīgure – "Career support in human resource attraction and development in the institution "Olaine Municipality"".

Higher education diplomas have already been awarded to graduates of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies, the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Technology and the Faculty of Forest and Environmental Sciences. The graduation series will conclude with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
