Malnava College

LBTU Malnava College

Malnava College is an Agency of Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies, which ensures continuity in agricultural and related sector education. College offers short-cycle professional higher education programs that deeply integrate practical research into the academic process. Through field trials, observations, and data analysis, students develop strong decision-making skills, enabling them to effectively address real-world challenges in their fields.

Research and Practical Experience

Research activities include crop variety trials under the agro ecological conditions of Latgale, comparative studies on silage quality, and soil fertility assessments in collaboration with regional farms. Students increasingly engage with precision agriculture tools, such as GPS technologies, digital interpretation of soil analyses, and data-driven crop management practices. These activities form a strong foundation for student involvement in applied research within the short-cycle professional higher education programs “Entrepreneurship of Agriculture” and “Crop Production.”

In the program “Automotive Technology and Service Management,” students explore vehicle diagnostics, fault analysis, and current trends in technology development. In recent years, special focus has been placed on electric and hybrid vehicle systems, operational specifics, and diagnostic techniques—significantly broadening students’ understanding of environmentally friendly mobility solutions.

International Collaboration and Mobility

To foster research-oriented thinking in an international context, the college actively participates in Erasmus+ mobility and collaborates with educational and research institutions in Lithuania, Denmark, Spain, and Germany, continuously seeking new partnerships. Students enhance their professional competencies through international experiences, while also strengthening their analytical and evaluation skills. Exposure to modern technologies and international best practices reinforces the link between academic studies and industry development—supporting high-quality professional preparation at the higher education level.
