Hydrogen X Future Hackathon
From 6 to 8 October, the international hackathon "Hydrogen X Future Hackathon", dedicated to hydrogen and renewable energy, took place at the Institute of Solid State Physics of the University of Latvia (8 Kengaraga Street) in cooperation with leading Latvian companies and organisations. 10 teams competed and the main prize of €3000 was awarded for the most innovative solution.
The student team "Hidra" from the LBTU participated with a solution for Challenge 4: to investigate the most efficient use of excess electricity generated at Riga Airport by using hydrogen as an energy carrier.
For their innovative approach, the LBTU team received the Riga International Airport Crush Award, demonstrating the students' ability to work with real, industry-relevant challenges.
