LBTU Student Business Incubator

Located within the University, the LBTU Student Business Incubator provides all students with the opportunity to engage in entrepreneurial activities and develop their ideas during their studies, using LBTU infrastructure and the skills and expertise available at LBTU. 

The aim of the incubator is to promote student innovation projects, highlighting the Zemgale region and its development, strengthening and promoting cooperation between university scientists and students with businesses, including local entrepreneurs and home producers who have expressed a desire to contribute to the LBTU Student Business Incubator program.

The program helps LBTU become a successful innovation platform where students are not only prepared for the job market, but also motivated to become idea developers, entrepreneurs, and industry transformers at the local, national, and international levels.

Intensive creative workshops in collaboration with leading companies in the industry, such as Latvenergo, Latvijas Valsts meži, Latvijas Finieris, and others. Students tackle real environmental, energy, and agricultural challenges, developing practical and sustainable innovations.

Networking evenings are organized to promote cooperation, where you can meet like-minded people and future cooperation partners, together with the LBTU Student Council.

COMPETENCE DEVELOPMENT TRAINING

START UP Wednesdays

During the training, students will learn step by step how to develop their business idea, gaining knowledge about entrepreneurship, marketing, innovation, personal productivity, financial basics, introduction to 3D modeling, and presentation (pitch) skills, with the support of professional mentors.

EIT Food Hub in Latvia

EIT Food Hub in Latvia is developed in cooperation with the Latvian Rural Advisory and Training Centre and the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, bringing together the strongest players in the innovation ecosystem with a wide network and experience in supporting entrepreneurs and innovators in the agriculture and food sectors, while promoting the creation of new businesses and their involvement in EU-level programmes such as EIT Food Jumpstarter, EIT Food Seedbed and Test Farms, which provide opportunities to validate ideas, attract funding and test solutions in the real market.

UNILAB

UniLab incubator, established by four leading scientific universities in Latvia – Riga Technical University, University of Latvia, Riga Stradins University and Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies – to support students' technological business ideas by offering mentoring, resources and knowledge for idea development and validation on the path to successful entrepreneurship.

Technology and Knowledge Transfer Centre

The LBTU Technology and Knowledge Transfer Centre promotes cooperation between scientists and entrepreneurs, ensures intellectual property protection, facilitates commercialisation of research results, and provides a broad range of services to support innovation and start-up development at both regional and national levels.
