Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) course "Digital Landscape Photography"'

We are pleased to invite your students to participate in the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) course "Digital Landscape Photography", organized by the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU), Jelgava, Latvia. 

This international course (3 ECTS) is designed to develop students’ practical and creative skills in landscape photography, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience in diverse natural and urban environments. The course will take place if 10 participants register. BIP ID 2025-1-LV01-KA131-HED-000314048-1. 

Course period:

  • 05–08 May 2026 – Virtual component 

  • 11–15 May 2026 – On-site component (Jelgava & surrounding locations) 

Course content highlights:

  • Principles of light, composition, colour, and visual perception,

  • Landscape as a visual language and storytelling through images,

  • Practical fieldwork in Jelgava, Ķemeri Bog, and Riga,

  • Urban and nature photography sessions,

  • Photo selection, editing, and critical reflection. 

Programme includes:

  • Technical foundations and evening light photography,

  • Exploration of light, colour, and reflections,

  • Morning landscape photography in natural environments,

  • Urban landscape photography experience,

  • Final image selection and editing. 

Virtual component:

  • Introductory session and course overview,

  • Mini lecture on "Light awareness",

  • Creative task: "One Photo That Represents Me".

After the course: Participants will create a 5-image series, and selected works will be presented in a mini exhibition "Light After Jelgava". 

The course is suitable for beginners. Students may participate using either a camera or a smartphone.
