Unilab

Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU) has joined the science university initiative "UniLab", which consists of four leading Latvian science universities - Riga Technical University (RTU), University of Latvia (Lu), Riga Stradins University (RSU) and LBTU. The programme is aimed at developing science-intensive and technological business ideas and creating high added value start-ups in Latvia. 

To date, UniLab has supported 43 start-ups developing innovative products and solutions, such as biosensors for food quality control (Smart Packaging), underwater drones for search and survey (SUBmerge Baltic) and phosphorus recovery technology for wastewater (P-Agro Minerals). Support has also been given to a technology for skin cancer diagnosis developed by Bdetect.
