MAKEATHON “AGRITECH 2023”

The AgriTech 2023 Makeathon was organised to promote innovative solutions in the agriculture, forestry, fisheries and food sectors in 48 hours. The event was organised by the LACC in cooperation with LBTU and Horizon project i2connect, taking place at LBTU premises in Jelgava. 

The main winners were: 

• 1st prize (1500 €) - team "Puzes āboli" with the idea of turning apple stamps into powder that can be used in food and beverages.
• 2nd prize (€500) - a modern forest management system for efficient tree measurement.
• 3rd prize (€300) - snack production using fermented draffins.
• Special prize from LBTU (500 €) - team for vegan, protein-rich beads. 

Makeathons proved that it is possible to take a significant step towards viable innovation in a short time.
