Mācību vebinārs "Anonymization, Pseudonymization and Management of Sensitive Research Data"
We welcome researchers and other interested participants to a two-day seminar on the protection and processing of sensitive research data, focusing on anonymization, pseudonymization, and their practical application in research.
The seminar provides a practical introduction to key concepts, methods, and tools for working with sensitive research data, as well as guidance on how to manage such data securely throughout the research process.
Participation: in English, free of charge.

Lecturer: Prof. Dr. Matthias Templ is the Head of the Competence Center for Data Quality and Anonymization and Head of the Swiss Data Anonymization Center at FHNW University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland.
Content:
Types of sensitive data in research and associated risks,
Basic principles of data protection and privacy,
Pseudonymization and its methods,
Anonymization and its methods,
Risks of identification and re-identification,
Tools for anonymization and pseudonymization (e.g. ARX, sdcMicro, Amnesia, Python- and R-based solutions),
Managing sensitive data throughout the data lifecycle,
Preparing data for secure sharing and publishing.
Seminar materials will be sent to registered participants shortly before the event.
